We are thrilled to announce that Bruker has recently acquired NION, a leading high-end electron microscopy company. As we continue to expand our expertise and capabilities in the field, we are looking for R&D Scientist (m/f/d) to join our team in Karlsruhe.

Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten

  • Designing, implementing, and experimentally testing innovations in scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM)
  • Developing advanced data acquisition and data processing algorithms for STEM
  • Contributing to application software development
  • Taken care of a NION UltraSTEM and a microscopy facility
  • Systematic planning of work and reporting of results
  • Fosters close collaboration with product management

Qualifikationen

  • PhD in natural sciences, and master’s in physics or equivalent
  • Experience in development/modification of instrumentation/complex equipment
  • Programming skills in Python or similar
  • Knowledge of electronics, precision mechanics, vacuum technology is a pro
  • Experience with high-resolution electron microscopy is a pro
  • Experience with modern data processing techniques is a pro
  • Demonstrated merit in research evident from scientific publications
  • Interest in product development
  • Excellent communication skills in a multinational team
  • Fluent in English is requirement, fluent in German is a plus
