As one of the world’s leading analytical instrumentation companies, Bruker covers a broad spectrum of advanced solutions in all fields of research and development. All our systems and instruments are designed to improve safety of products, accelerate time-to-market and support industries in successfully enhancing quality of life. We’ve been driving innovation in analytical instrumentation for 50 years now. Today, worldwide more than 6,000 employees are working on this permanent challenge, at over 70 locations on all continents.

Bruker BioSpin is the market leader in Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR). Our systems cover the whole range of EPR instrumentation from low-cost benchtop systems with dedicated use to high performance modular systems for research and academia. The R&D group is one of the most important contributors to our success story. One of the key steps of the development of a new system or component is the system integration and the verification of its specifications. This requires domain knowledge in the field of EPR as well as skills in measurement techniques and analytical thinking. Integration and verification (I&V) ensures that our products together with our software and applicationsare able to generate the targeted value in the customer lab.

The I&V Test Engineer is responsible for the execution of all tests which are required to verify that a unit or system meets its specifications. These consist of electronic measurements, EPR experiments and software tests. He/she is working together with the System Architect, Technical Product Manager and/or the Component Manager to create a test plan for the I&V tests and works in close contact with the product development team to support the integration of new components in the system . In addition, he/she summarizes all findings and results in a comprehensive test report.

A good understanding of EPR is required. Therefore, a masters degree or PhD in physics, electronics of chemistry with specialization in the field of EPR is essential. In addition, experience in using RF measurement devices is beneficial. As an internationally acting company, our language is English. Good skills in spoken and written English are demanded. Bringing a new device to the market is always a team effort. An I&V Terst Engineer is part of the I&V group and, in addition and even more important, a member of the product development team. Good communication, open-mindedness and mutual support are key in a successful project team. Joint as well as self-dependent acting is a must and analytical thinking is a necessary skill to master the challenge of tracking bugs and imperfections down to their root causes.
