    Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten

    Applied markets are defined as Food, Forensic and Environmental applications of mass spectrometry. In this position you will be contributing to Applied Markets marketing and sales activities across the complete Bruker mass spectrometry product range, which may change as solution development progresses. Primary initial responsibility will be for the high-resolution screening solution.

    The position is based within the European region and involves frequent travel within the region and on occasions to other international locations.

    The primary objective of this position is to generate better-than-market business growth in the market area by ensuring Bruker is seen as the MS provider of choice for Applied Market customers, synonymous with solution superiority, best customer support and the highest degree of business integrity.

    Specifically, your tasks will include:

    • Conduct high level presentations at conferences and to potential customers.
    • Assist the achievement of sales by supplying expert advocacy in support of Sales colleagues, in person or via remote link.
    • Identify target scientific conferences, prioritize and plan participation in these in partnership with Marketing according to annual budget.
    • Identify Opinion Leading customers and develop collaborative relationships with them to achieve wider sales influence.
    • Ensure continual awareness of scientific and competitive developments in the field, including attendance and presentations at scientific conferences.
    • Gather, evaluate and summarize competitor information and market trends from the region.
    • Disseminate fresh competitive and market trend information to international colleagues in a timely manner.
    • Contribute to the direction of optimal future solution development through contribution to Strategic Review meetings and evaluation documents.
    • Provide scientific and message content of marketing materials and sales tools.
    • Establish contact with appropriate regulatory bodies with the aim of influencing policy as a   result of enablement of new techniques from Bruker solutions.

    Qualifikationen

    • Preferably Phd, minimum BSc in relevant analytical science area or equivalent.
    • Considerable expertise in Mass Spectrometry applied to trace analysis at postdoctoral level and a good understanding of modem commercial applications of this technique.
    • A deep knowledge of markets, workflows and applications for mass spectrometry in one or more Applied Markets: preferably contaminant testing in food and environmental analysis.
    • A full and current understanding of major competitors, pricing and tactics.
    • A good grasp of regulatory aspects of Forensics, Clinical, Environmental and Food analysis.
    • High standard of written English and ability to describe complex issues in a form understood by those for whom English is not a first language.
    • Regular proactive communicator with all colleagues, especially remote based staff.
    • Conspicuous personal integrity to set a standard by which customers and colleagues can positively differentiate Bruker from its competitors.
    • Strong personal credibility and able to influence technical and financial decisions at a high level.
    • Self-motivation is essential as is a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.
    • Well organized and able to decide priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.
    • Willingness and ability to travel is a necessity, as this position will involve about 50% travel.
    • Current valid driving license.
    • No significant barrier on travel to US, Europe and China.
